"The Big Three"
The 'Media Gods' (David Gountlett), of the music industry, the big three, are;
Do these media companies dominate the music industry?
Katy Perry is the most followed artist on twitter (with 80.3 Million Followers) yet she isn't actually part of the big three companies, she's actually with Capital Records. Which disproves the domination of the big three as a artist outside their company is dominating this part of social media, also known as Web 2.0.
For 2015 Drake was the most streamed artist, with 1.8 billion streams. Drake was a former member of OVO, who's parent companies Warner Brother Records before leaving that record for a independent label.

What has been the impact of the internet on media production?
Snoop Dog found Iza Lach through SoundCloud and flew to Poland to record around a hundred songs with this artist before signing them to his record label. He found her through this Web 2.0 site instead of the more traditional methods of recognition, through the use of the "Media Gods" (David Gountlett).
Lord also posted "Royals" on sound cloud for free before becoming a part of a record label.

Theory on Meningitis - Civic Engagement
Theor on Meninjitus from Lisa Adams
Sacktivism - Argument
This describes actions performed on the internet in support of a political of social cause which requires little effort. It can also be done for the benefit of ones self ego. The examples given in the definition are signing a petition online. Despite the minimal effort signing a online petition has, it can be effective despite the persons reasoning's for signing it. If someone signed the petition to get the meningitis B injection given to older children just to benefit their own personal status, personally, l don't think that matters too much as they're still signing the petition. They've stroll opted for something to change despite their initial interests.
Not everyone has the ability to show support through physical forms of charity or by doing fund raisers, so there needs to be things like online petitions for even the most prevented citizens from helping a cause.
